If you’re a regular visitor to SearchEngineAcademy.com you’ve probably already noticed our new look. Our web design and development team has been working long and hard on giving the Search Engine Academy website a badly overdue update. Our priorities in designing the new site have been two-fold. First, we naturally want to let everyone know about the unmatched depth of SEO and training experience that the SEA has to offer. But as importantly, we want to make the new SEA website a much more useful, easier to use resource both for professional SEOs as well as businesses looking for help navigating the increasingly complex world of Internet Search.
As we continue to develop our Internet presence through our website, we will be soliciting feedback from you, the website visitor. We value suggestions from our readers and students as to what kinds of information and what educational resources you would like to see to make our SEO training the perfect fit for you (and leaving a note in the comments right now would be a good way to start).
Corporate Restructure Puts SEO Training Back Front and Center at the SEA
The new website is just the tip of the iceberg at the SEA, because we have also gone through a major restructuring of the Search Engine Academy business structure in the first months of 2015. The original vision of John Alexander and Robin Nobles, namely to bring formal training to the world of Search Marketing and Optimization, has stood the test of time and the Search Engine Academy is now well into its second decade. As our home page proudly proclaims, we’ve trained over 3,500 students in 9 countries, and counting.

The SEA has now reached a point where a more formal business structure is needed for us to expand and improve our training into the next 10 years of search, and so John Alexander, who remains active with the SEA, has turned over control of the business to a formal board of directors. This will allow John to focus on education, research, and writing, and will equip the SEA to achieve an ever higher standard as the technical training center for Internet search marketers at all levels of experience.
The current Board of Directors of the SEA is composed entirely of instructors and consists of Steve Scott, Greg Mate, Sue Cooper, Beth Kahlich, and myself. We are excited about the opportunity to build on what John and Robin started, and we hope you’ll stick around to see what good things are in store from the new Search Engine Academy.
How exciting! The new digs look great 😉
Thanks Natalie! Exciting times ahead!
Always exciting to go thru a restructure. I leave my SEO to my webmaster and have learned about it so I know what we are doing and why.
Thanks Roslyn! We are very excited about our new design and ease of use. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you continue to think of the Search Engine Academy for all your SEO information needs in the future.
The new look is clean and easy to follow. Looking forward to see what else in in store!
Thanks for the feedback, Sherri. We have an ambitious plan for the next 12-24 months, just keep an eye on the site and make sure you’re subscribed to the blog and newsletter.
Restructuring is sometimes necessary and not only beneficial but exciting!
What a great accomplishment to have such a reach for educating/training adults (9 countries, awesome!). It appears that you’ve got a solid strategic plan in place and I wish you the best of luck!
Thanks for the comment Liz. We’re dead serious about taking SEO training international, and we have some awesome partners outside the United States. It will be a challenge, but all of us at the SEA are looking forward to it.
Looking great, best of luck!
Thanks, Sonya! Luck always comes in handy 😉
2 decades, wow! The website looks great. Congratulations!
Well, Carol, to be honest we’re not at the 2 decade mark yet. Going on 13 however. And I always say that online years are measured the same as dog years, so, wow, we’ve been around for 91 “internet” years! No wonder my knees are creaking.
Looking good! I like it. Been through a bit of a makeover to my own brand recently. It always feels nice, doesn’t it?
Thanks Lisa. Makeovers do indeed feel nice, but oh so challenging…
Great look! Clean design, visually appealing. Looks awesome!
Thank you Holly! We’re pretty proud of our new digs 🙂
Restructuring is a great project and it looks like you’ve made a good start.
Thanks Beth for the compliment- be sure and help us spread the word.
Looks like a great new look here. 🙂
Thanks Katarina! If you know anyone who might be interested, be sure and send them our way.
Changing things up is always fun; good for your that you’re growing to such an extent that restructuring became necessary. It’s important to be ready for success. Great work!
Thanks for the positive feedback, Jackie.
You gotta love a clean and simple design. Lots of white space and easy to read so your visitor stays on the site and wants to dig for more info. Great makeover, congrats!
Glad you like the white space Delia. It’s a huge temptation to fill every available spot on any given page with content, isn’t it?
Didn’t know what it looked like before, but the new look is nice. SEO is important for small business owners to be able to compete, I sure know that… I have been working hard to educate small biz owners on SEO for a few years now. Always work in progress, as you know!
Thanks for the observation, Kristen. I think a lot of small business owners have been so jaded by SEO solicitations that they get daily by phone and email that they have thrown their hands up in despair. Maybe you’ve seen this with the small business owners you’ve been helping. It’s sort of like trying to sort out the claims and counter claims on which foods help/hurt you.
